September 2010 August followed July with poor weather. However, by the middle of the month, things had improved dramatically with Sunday 15 August being an excellent day. Here Ben Keayes prepares to launch on Clough Head and fly to Ings between Kendal & Windermere. A number of pilots made it down the Helvellyn ridge with paraglider pilots taking over the 555 bus back over Dunmail Raise! |

August 2010 No photos submitted this month perhaps reflecting the rubbish weather! Its been a month of strong winds and rain - quite a contrast to June. This month's picture is Chris Field flying Whitestones in August 2008. The view is looking south and it looks like we grabbed an evening's opportunity |

July 2010 The downside to flying in the Lakes! Participants in this year's Lakes Charity Classic B compitition make the long grind up Jenkin Hill on a hot Friday 4 June. The flying was quite lively but there were some big thermals around |

June 2010 We don't get many pictures from Farleton Knott in the SE Lakes by J36 of the M6. John Hamlett took this photo shortly before departing on a 9.5km XC to Arkholme. The River Kent can be seen in the middle distance. The Old Man of Coniston is directly behind the pilot of the red glider. |

May 2010 Friday 16 April was a brilliant day on Whitestones. Here Ed Cleasby soars above the Howgills looking south down the Lune Valley. While the mere mortals amongst us hopped between Fell Head and Whitestones, Ed soared effortlessly down to Sedbergh and then returned north to Blease Fell (Tebay). Photo by Alex Butler |

April 2010 Dave Robinson took this photo high above Grasmere on 4 March. His passenger is Lucie from the Czech Republic. The other wing is piloted by Sarka Teskova (Czech Republic). The view is looking down to Grasmere with the village on the right and the lake on the left. Dave reports that it was "A good day with big wide tandem friendly thermals !!" |

March 2010 Dave Ashcroft took this picture over Wastwater Screes on Friday 19 February 2010. Paul Clarke is the pilot and the view is looking to the head of Wasdale with Great Gable just to the left of the glider. |

February 2010 January started with clear skies and lots of snow. One of the difficulties in flying was getting to take off and the cold! Here, Pete Rycroft can be seen in Ennerdale with Pillar as the highest peak on the skyline. Photo by Ed Cleasby. |

January 2010 It just had to be this one! Monday 28 December provided a superb afternoon's flying for the 14 CSC pilots who made the long walk up Blease Fell to the summit ridge. Dave Horne took this photo of Mal Grout and Paul Smith enjoying the lift at its best. Dave reports that " It was so smooth that you could fly virtually hands-off for the whole time in the air." December 2009 November has been a difficult month for free flying Cumbria with high winds, extensive rain and flooding dominating the month. However on Sunday 8 November, a gaggle of CSC pilots congregated at Burnbank for a splendid autumn day's flying. Here is Lance Greenhalgh in action with Coledale Hause in the background. |
