Details
An excellent hang gliding site but not used by paragliders. Very short carry, easy top landing and extensive soaring that, in the right conditions, can extend all the way to Burney/Burlington. No bottom landing!

Just to the east of where the A595 swings from east/west to north/south to the east of Ireleth. If you get to this point going east, you should be on the road leading up to the hill.
Getting There
Follow A595 south until entering Ireleth. Turn right at St.Peter's school. Follow minor road up the hill for 1000m to Moorfield farm on the left. Turn in; keep to the left of buildings until a gated track leads to a park outside the second gate
Getting to takeoff
Go through gate and head up to the right. Plenty of rigging areas.
XC potential
Limited due to location but short XC's have been done to just beyond Ellerside.

Briefing
Additional Safety Notes
Power lines across front/base of hill. Don't land behind the "bump" due to the presence of rotor!!
Paragliding
Because of the shallow nature and fresher winds that the site requires then only flown by paragliders on very rare occasions.
Hang Gliding
Easy site to fly. Can have remarkably good lift at times; possibly wave enduced or enhanced by Black Combe and the Duddon Estuary upwind. Don't go behind wall when top landing in fresh winds.
XC potential
Limited due to location but short XC's have been done to just beyond Ellerside.
